Again this year, on June 7, the Scottish Rite Club of San Luis Obispo County celebrated the mandated Ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal.  The Supreme Council has directed that this ceremony replace the former Maundy Thursday Observance.
The event was extremely well received by the Brethren and others present.  Brother Willard Strong, 32°, K.C.C.H, presented the featured address to the assemblage.  Brother Jerry Boxer, 32°, K.C.C.H. President of the SLO County Club served as Wise Master and Brother Ken Brokamp, 32° served as Orator, Brother Jim Smith 32°,K.C.C.H. served as Senior Warden, Brother Jerry Harbick, 32° served As Junior Warden; while brother Bob Ellis, 32° , almoner,  Brother Rod Smiley 32°, Master of Ceremonies, Brother Connie Jarvis, 32°, Guardian of the Temple and Brother Terry McNulty, 32°, filled the other chairs.
The ceremony contains elements relating both to Passover and Maundy Thursday and has a very wide appeal.  The full text and explanation of the ceremony is to be found in the book published in the year 2000 by the Scottish Rite Research Society, “Forms and Traditions of the Scottish Rite.”
