Roger’s Corner (May, 2008)

With aromas of down home homemade cooking coming from the dining room at the Scottish Rite Center, members, their wives, escorts and friends quickly gathered in the dining room to sample the simple but sophisticated delightful options at the hors d' oeuvre table and also sample the various red and white wines available. Quiet, subdued conversation, occasioned by occasional outbursts of laughter from the attendees was observed during the hors d' oeuvre hour. As usual, the dining room staff, in starched red aprons, was available and eager to assist the dinner guests.
Dining room linen-topped tables, elegantly set, were decorated with a mixed color of spring flowers - thanks to Mary Lou Johnson and Grace Stephens.
The menu for the April 8 monthly dinner consisted of a tossed green salad with special vinaigrette dressing, maple-glazed baked ham rich in taste but not in calories, scalloped potatoes, roasted vegetables and freshly baked rolls (oh, the aroma of fresh baked bread!)
Coffee or tea was available and a birthday cake (for Leo Mark's birthday was served.)
Members and guests, detour to the San Jose Scottish Rite Center on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for good, contemporary American cuisine and enjoy dinner while also enjoying fine fellowship with your friends.
Dinner reservations must be made with the Scottish Rite Center. Please telephone Mary Lou Johnson, 408.978.7483
