Regional Orient Membership Ambassador’s Message (August, 2011)

There are those in our ranks who have who always wanted a brother.  It is a naturally profound human desire to be loved and to love a sibling.
Masons recognize all mankind as brethren:  children of common parents; creatures of the will of one common God.  Masons alone from a time for which the memory of man furnishes no record have recognized the great moral truth that “All mankind is born free and equal.”  We are taught to extend a willing and kindly hand to all and to practice all of the virtues that make a good man an even better one:  to protect the oppressed, to relieve the needy, to support the weak and to comfort and defend the widow and orphan.
As we take the Masonic degrees, a spiritual path connects and leads us to comprehension, understanding and a manifestation of enlightened wisdom and a peaceful state of mind.  In our quest for spiritual peace, confusion becomes clear.  The brevity of man's days is written in portions of Psalms 90:6, "In the morning it flourishes and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers."
Let us then offer the worthy and well-qualified the opportunity to become members of our great Fraternity sooner rather than later.  It is our duty to stand by their sides and help them become Masters of the Royal Secret, so that when we depart this earthly existence to that “House not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” Scottish Rite Masonry will continue to thrive.
