As I reflect on 2011, I am so proud of all that has been accomplished in our Valley. I want to thank each of you for doing your part to make 2011 as successful as it was. We tried a few new things this past year, and I think most came off as we had hoped.
Our first ever Grand Master Reception and Festive Board was a lot of fun, and we have included it again this year. We are already on MW Loui’s schedule.  We revamped the Council of Masters to now, an “ALL Officers Council meeting” is held monthly to determine the course of the bodies and Valley. We held our first Master recognition dinner honoring all retiring Masters from our valley. It too was a lot of fun and one that we will continue through the years.
One of my first goals when I came on last December was to elevate the ritual within our valley, and I am pleased to say that all officers and degree cast members took up the challenge. Our ritual has improved immensely and our Stated Meetings are more professional because of the good ritual work. Our degrees get better every time we confer them. Our valley can go up against any other for the worked performed. We currently have several groups that have taken up the task of increasing the number of degrees that we confer. Besides the five mandatory degrees, we have groups working on the 9th, 10th, 12th, 15th and 19th degrees. Hopefully, others will also take up the challenge. Welcome to all the new members who came into our valley this past year.
Our clinic continues to do great work for our youth, and our Foundation recently increased the budget to allow for even more children to be helped. The children’s Christmas Party was again, a resounding success. It is so great to see the kids have such a good time at Christmas.
As we get ready for 2012, I would like to remind everyone of our Installation on Tuesday, the 31st of this month. MW and Illustrious Bill Stovall, our SGIG will again honor us as the Installing Officer for the event. As he will be retiring at the end of 2012, this will be his last time to join with us for the Installation. Please come out and support your 2012 officers.
Finally I wish to thank our General Secretary, Bob Rowan, Angela, and the entire staff who ensure our valley operates in a manner that all can be proud. When you get a chance, thank them for their efforts.
If you haven’t been to the Scottish Rite for a while, consider doing so this year. We are having a good time doing the work of the Rite. We can always use your participation and assistance.
You just might like what you see and experience.
Have a great year in 2012. I hope to see all of you many times throughout the year.
