I have not had the honor of meeting everyone personally, but I would like to say how excited I am to be working here at the San Jose Scottish Rite. Mary Lou is absolutely wonderful and I will learn all she does to keep the office running smoothly. She is a terrific teacher.
I was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, moved to Spring Valley, New York, where I lived for six years  and then to San Jose in 1978.  I attended Leland High School, graduating in 1984.
I attended San Jose City College, passed the cosmetology board in 1985, worked at Tara Financial and Real Estate in Campbell for 3 years and then worked with First Franklin Financial, a Mortgage Lender for over 9 years as a funder, doc preparer and Assist. Sales Rep. where I obtained all my knowledge in the mortgage industry and worked briefly with a prominent real estate developer in Los Altos, Abigail Ahrens and Associates.
My relatives, owned a number of restaurants. My uncle, Pete Kouretas, owned Zorbas Restaurant in Campbell until his passing. He was a Mason and a member of the San Jose Scottish Rite. I always enjoyed my side jobs there, interacting with people and running the restaurants evenings and weekends. This eventually led to me to do catering, when the mortgage industry was at a slow point. I always desired to get back into an office atmosphere.
I am the daughter of a doctor, Luis, now retired and residing in Florida and a mother, Sherry, who was a nurse for 20+ years at the SLO Men’s Colony, a medium security prison, who is also retired and lives in Maryland. I have a twin brother (not identical), who has been working for Santa Clara Valley Medical for 25 years in the Sterile Processing Department and still resides in San Jose. I was definitely surrounded by the medical field which may be why I enjoy working and taking care of people.
My grandfather, William Ault Grove, was a decorated veteran, wounded during World War II. He was an Air Force Pilot shot down. He spent considerable time at the American Legion, and that was one of the favorite places I was able to go with him, until his passing this past November 2008.
My grandmother Gloria Kathleen Grove served as the first Madame President, for the Eagles Auxiliary #694. She also volunteered at the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary for 30+ years, in Maryland. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and an inspiration for me.
I am married to a wonderful man, Tony, for over 21 yrs.  Together we have 3 beautiful daughters.  Joann is 23yrs. old, Gina is 16yrs. old and Nicole is 14yrs. old. Girls are quite a handful!
I am open to possible ways of doing something better and always like input and suggestions.  So please always tell me when there is an issue or something I need to pay attention to or take care of. I look forward to working here, growing here, and learning the greatness of the San Jose Scottish Rite. I have the upmost respect and honor for you all.
Please feel free to say hi and introduce yourself.
In the meantime, I will work hard to fill Mary Lou’s shoes. I am ready for the challenge.

God Bless.
