From the Wise Master (May, 2015)

Though April showers may come your way (in the context of rain only) it seems that our California is on its way to becoming a dry state, and we must take heed and do our respective parts in limiting our water usage now, as best we can, remembering that it could even get worse. I want to thank everyone that attended the March 2nd Maundy Thursday event. We had an appropriate dinner and I think everyone enjoyed both the meal and the remembrance of the commemoration Jesus Christ’s last supper and so forth. My thanks, especially to Ill. Richard Fisher, his team and the Chapter Rose Croix officers for a fine celebration. By the time you read this most all of the San Jose Scottish Rite Spring Reunion degrees will have been conferred. I’ve got to tell you that being in attendance to see these degrees is really worthwhile. It amplifies an understanding of the meaning represented by the first time a brother has been initiated and completed the degrees. There was so much going on at one’s first reunion that the memory is overloaded. Only by repeated attendance will all of the nuances of each degree ritual be appreciated. With each semi-annual reunion more and more of the details become grasped. Its like saying “Oh! That’s what it meant” or “Oh! I didn’t get that last time”. So—for myself anyway, I have really come to look forward to the reunions. And I find much enjoyment in having had the opportunity for the past several years now to have been able to actually participate as a member of the 30th Degree team.

Thank you: Dell Bleiler, Wise Master
