The Capping Ceremony for the new 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons went real well at the May Stated Meeting dinner. Actually rather spectacular. This was my first participation in this ceremony as a SR line officer, and as Wise Master of Chapter Rose Croix I  felt really honored myself - just as I’m sure the recipients felt so honored - as they received their caps. They appeared so happy and so proud to share this once in a lifetime experience with their wife, family and friends.
Congratulations to you all, and if you have time in your future schedules, save several days in each spring or fall to again attend each SR reunion, especially the 4th, 14th, 18th, 30th and 32nd conferrals. I have attended a number of these and each time I learn more, and appreciate all the work the directors and cast have dedicated themselves to.
You may have wondered what the little gold wings pin on my lapel indicates. When I received my 32nd SR degree I was in the “Class of Jimmy Doolittle”. This was the SR pin for that class. The next class was named for General Douglas MacArthur, however they don’t do that any more.
And - you will please excuse me now - but I have to get back to Lodge and get my guys together for a trip this summer to visit the carrier “Hornet” that is based in Alameda. We will be doing a “virtual” takeoff.
