Greetings from the East,
Brethren,

Over the recent Thanksgiving weekend, I took a few moments and reflected on what the San Jose Scottish Rite had to be thankful for in this past year.
-We successfully made the change over to the new Degree rituals one of first in California to have done so.
-Our degree teams have recruited enthusiastic new members.
-We have instituted the new Ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal on Maundy Thursday.
-The Remembrance and Renewal team was invited by the Santa Cruz Scottish Rite Club to present it in Santa Cruz.
The evening was well attended and well received.
-In spite of the economic turmoil of the past year, our Language Clinic has been able to continue serving children with
language disorders at a level close to past years.
-More and more members are taking part in the Supreme Council's Master Craftsman program.
-Scottish Rite and Masonic education is being warmly received in the Valley of San Jose. The Nights of Instruction and Festive Agape Banquets were well received and more are being planned for 2010.
-We are seeing more side-liners at the Reunions and stated meetings.
-Our Knights of St. Andrew are growing in number. At the June Regional Reunion in Long Beach there was an outstanding 29th Degree.
As the Old Year is coming to an end give some thought about how you participated in benefited from the San Jose Scottish Rite's 2009 and activities. Then consider sharing this with your Blue Lodge brethren.
My family and I wish the blessings of this Holiday Season on all you and your families.

Richard M. Fisher  -  Venerable Master
