First, a small correction to my message last month, about the Regional Reunion in Long Beach in June, 2009.  I understood all 29 Degrees of the Scottish Rite would be conferred.  A closer look at their web-site showed they are going to confer 17 Degrees and communicate the other 12.  It also looks like we will have the opportunity to bring a team down and present the 29th Degree.  If you have any potential candidates this three day Reunion (June 10 through 13, 2009) is a chance for them to see Degree teams from other Valleys and regions perform.

Please keep a look out for information on receiving the Rite Word electronically instead of by print.  Our Secretary's Office is working on the details and distribution by e-mail is near.

At this writing we have received a "bunch" of applications for the Scottish Rite Foundation Scholarship grant for 2009.  The Selection Committee will be meeting soon to select our recipient.  The 2010 grant application will be on our web site by summer.  The Scholarship is $2500.00 per year, renewable for up to four years and is open to graduating seniors of public high schools within the jurisdiction of the Valley of San Jose who will be attending 4 year colleges or universities.

I will be assisting the Wise Master of the Chapter of Rose Croix in presenting the annual Maundy Thursday observance on April 9, 2009 in San Jose and on April 8, 2009 at the Santa Cruz Scottish Rite Club.  Reservations are always recommended.

See you at the Stated Meeting.

Venerable Master
