Brethren and Ladies:

First, I would like to thank you for allowing me to serve as your Venerable Master.  It has been an extremely rewarding experience.  I have had the distinct privilege of working with an excellent team of officers.  I encourage each of you to give the 2011 San Jose Scottish Rite Bodies’ officers your support.
I would also like to thank the Most Worshipful and Illustrious Leo B. Mark, 33° for his guidance, Illustrious Daniel McDaniel, 33°, for encouraging me to become an officer of the Lodge of Perfection, and Illustrious Robert E. Winter, 33°, for allowing me latitude in the management of San Jose Scottish Rite Bodies.
One of our chief accomplishments over the past year was the addition of 30 new Scottish Rite Masons to our membership rolls.  I encourage the sponsors of these brethren to join them at 2011 events so that they may learn more about our fraternity.  While on the topic of membership, I challenge you to continue to build momentum by introducing more Master Masons to San Jose Scottish Rite in 2011.  Speak to the worthy and qualified about the opportunity.  Tell them that Faith, Hope and Charity are interwoven into our Order.  They are stars that give light and luster to the Mason’s pathway, urging him onward to the exercise of the noble principles of our Order to which he can belong.
Finally, I would like to offer my congratulations to the Most Worshipful and Illustrious Ken Nagel 33° on his new position as our Personal Representative for the Valley of San Jose.
My best wishes to all of you for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2011.

Durward C. Ayre, 32° KCCH   Venerable Master
