My Brothers and their Ladies,

First off—there is a CHANGE OF TIME for our August 11 Stated Meeting.  Because we will be starting the activities of the Grand Master’s Reception and Festive Board of Fellowship at 6:15pm, we will open our Stated Meeting at 5:45pm sharp, rather than the normal 6pm. Please note this change on your calendars and smart phones now. See you all on the 11th at 5:45pm!
Secondly, due to the smaller than expected number of reservations for the planned visit to the National Steinbeck Museum on Saturday, August 29, we have regrettably had to cancel this event. The LOP will come up with something else for a future date. Stay tuned to this station for further developments!
I have been doing some reading about the origins of the Scottish Rite, particularly the southern jurisdiction, and I would like to pass on some of the fascinating information that I have read.
First, the Supreme Council is commonly known as the Mother Supreme Council of the world and was created in 1801, and claims that other Supreme Councils have been derived from it. The Southern Jurisdiction is responsible for the Scottish Rite in thirty-five states; the Northern Jurisdiction formed in 1813 and has fifteen states.
