Brethren, Ladies and Friends,

I would like to start off with a well earned congratulations to our Knights of St. Andrew and their presentation of the 29th Degree at the Regional Reunion in Long Beach in June.  The auditorium of the Long Beach Bodies is fantastic but it is arranged like a theater not a lodge room as the San Jose Scottish Rite has been in our current and past locations.  The team did an excellent job of adapting their floor work to the limitations of Long Beach's stage.  Most important was the ritual which was impressive.  I may be wrong but I believe our 29th Degree team was the only team to confer the degree in the new ritual.
I also want to welcome our new brethren who became Scottish Rite Masons at the Long Beach conferral.  Receiving the Degrees in the company of candidates from several other Valleys was a unique experience.
A small challenge to our new class, how about putting together an article for a coming issue of the Rite Word telling about your experience in that class.
