My Brothers,
Our Fall Reunion begins on Oct 17th, and we currently have only a few Candidates. Our Degree Teams are working long hours to insure that they present Degrees that are meaningful and relevant to the Candidates—AND—to the Brothers attending! 68% of Master Masons in California are not Scottish Rite members. Why don’t we try to do good for a Brother by just talking to him about what the Scottish Rite is? Most men who were interested in Masonry and became Master Masons will for sure be interested in what comes after the first three degrees in Blue Lodge. One of the most important goals for each of us should be to inspire good Master Masons to join us and enlighten themselves by the beautiful Scottish Rite Degrees, philosophical studies, special events, entertainment and good fellowship! At your next Blue Lodge Stated Meeting, talk to your Brothers about how much YOU enjoy the Scottish Rite, what you have gotten out of it, and why you think they would benefit from the Scottish Rite degrees. You may just give a Brother the little nudge he needs to say; “Yes. I’m interested. How do I join?”
Our October 14th Stated Meeting Dinner will be a  very special one. It is the Annual Feast of Tishri, which all Scottish Rite Masons are required to observe. We will begin the evening with a genuine Oktoberfest feast, catered by our own GUNTHER MEYBERG, owner of Gunther’s Deli. Dinner will be followed by a presentation by Ill. Dan Doornbos, on the history and meaning of the Feast of Tishri. We strongly encourage all of you, including wives, to attend dinner this special night. Please call or come by the office and make your reservations NOW. We expect a big turnout, and Gunther needs to order all the food and beverages in advance. Since we don’t want to have to turn anyone away, PLEASE make your reservations now.  See you on the 14th!

Fraternally,   Hank Vlcek,  General Secretary
