Brethren & Ladies:

We have now reached the end of another year and have, in fact, already begun and completed two months of this Masonic year.  My how time passes quickly!  The older I get, the quicker the time passes.
I have now had the pleasure of working for an excellent Personal Representative, Ill. Bob Winter, 33º and have now begun working for our new Personal Representative, Ill. Ken Nagel, 33º.  I look back with admiration and forward with expectation for even more improvement in our Valley.  I am certain that you all share the same feelings.
Our spring reunion is scheduled to begin in April and we do not yet have the applications presented for ballot that many of you have talked about.  Please remember that next Tuesday’s stated meeting is the last available time to present an application for the Spring Reunion.  There is still much work to be done before we can initiate a class for our Scottish Rite Valley.
Our newest Scholarship recipient has been selected and will be announced at the March stated meeting and a number of brothers will be recognized as 25 and 50 year members of Scottish Rite.
Recently, I received a link for a Scottish Rite message and share that link with those of you who like such things and are computer literate.  It is: and you will enjoy brief lecture by Brother Ben Franklin.
We have begun our 2011 Appeal for the San Jose Scottish Rite Language Disorders Clinic.  Please make whatever contribution you can and if you make your contribution through the Scottish Rite in Long Beach, be certain to earmark your donation to be on behalf of the San Jose Clinic.  Remember that we have our own Foundation and need whatever funds you can contribute on behalf of our own Clinic.

Robert D. Rowan, Jr.
General Secretary
