First of all, this, being the end of the year 2009, some acknowledgement for work well done are due to the Officers of the Bodies for their diligence and hard work on behalf of the San Jose Scottish Rite.
Secondly, the Board of Directors were active in the review and operation of the Foundation affairs.  Thank you!
We have had a number of changes this year with the retirement of Mary Lou Johnson; Felipe Martinez return with his family in Mexico; and the addition of Reuben Trujillo and Angela Athans to our staff.
The economy was damaging to us in the rentals category and the donations to support our Clinic suffered seriously.
None the less, we finished the year in decent shape and are looking forward to improving times.  In fact, when you see the pictures on page 4 you can experience the fun we had in ending the year with a GREAT Christmas Party!  Many thanks go to Susan Ramsey, Angela Athans and of course, quite a few of our members for their help in making the event memorable.  If you were not able to be here, be sure to join us next year.
Ill. Winter’s message and his letter to each of you at the end of December, talked about the need to actively involve ourselves in some serious fund raising for the clinic.  Thank you to those who have already made contributions to support this appeal.  In roughly 10 days, more than 60 members have responded with the average donation being about $58.  Keep up the great work my Brothers!
This year we will continue to maintain and improve our facility; work hard to improve the conferral of the new (not really) Standard Pike Rituals; and continue to have great dinners and social time together.  Be sure to join us whenever you can.  Remember that our Stated Meetings are on the second Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 PM with social time and dinner following.
Lastly, on February 9th, the San Jose Scottish Rite will host a reception for M.W. Ken Nagel as Grand Master of Masons in California.  Advance Dinner reservations are a must for this event because all Lodges and concordant Bodies will be invited, as well as the Grand Lodge Family.  Join us in celebration of M.W. Ken’s assent ion to Grand Master.
