![]() San Jose Scottish Rite Bodies successfully completed their entry into the realm of the new Pike Rituals and demonstrated proficiency in Long Beach in the 29th Degree and here in all degrees at our fall reunion where we welcomed three new 32° Scottish Rite Masons. We participated in the Honors Sessions in Oakland on November 7th at which Brothers Royce Ford and Dan McDaniels were elevated to the 33° and the following Brothers received the Honor of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. Bro. Randy Downey Bro. David Driesbach Bro. Jack Harris Bro. Ken Justus Bro. Hal Leister Bro. Ben Minter Bro Virgilio Quina Congratulations to all! * * * * * * * * * * * * * Bro. Chuck Cowden will be invested with the KCCH in the spring of 2010 together with those others who were unable to attend the November ceremonies. * * * * * * * * * * * * * We have successfully weathered the economic storms of this last year and trust (optimistically) that most of the storm is now behind us. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Many of you have noticed that we are reconfiguring the physical layout of our offices and our facilities on the lower level of the building. Keep watching, because we are not yet finished. * * * * * * * * * * * * * The California Scottish Rite Foundation Annual Meeting disclosed a number of issues both legal an otherwise where we will be instituting some changes. Most will not be anything more than cosmetic in the form of changed paperwork which has now become necessary due to changes in the regulations for 501 C(3) corporations. * * * * * * * * * * * * * The audits for the Bodies and the Foundation were completed and passed with flying colors so we are doing things correctly. * * * * * * * * * * * * * The biggest change for the year was the retirement of Mary Lou Johnson who worked here for 17 years and the impending loss of Felipe who has been with us for more that 12 years and is returning to Mexico to be with his family. * * * * * * * * * * * * * At our November Stated Meeting we confirmed the appointment of two new directors for the Foundation Bro. Herb Dallas 32° KCCH—reappointed Bro. Dee Ayre 32° KCCH Thank you in advance for your agreeing to serve. * * * * * * * * * * * * * We don’t yet know the results of our e-waste day but a full three truck loads left fully packed. Thanks to all for helping! * * * * * * * * * * * * * Lastly for this month, we hope to see many of you at the Christmas party for our Clinic on Saturday. Robert D. Rowan, Jr. General Secretary |
