Brethren all,

Have you checked your dues card lately?  There are still a number of you who have not yet met your dues obligation for the year 2012.  It will soon be time to send letters of suspension to those who have not become current and I would not be pleased to send  one of those letters to you.  That task is not high on my list and is definitely my most unenjoyably responsibility.
We have had a number of maintenance issues here this last month.  Early in the month the water heater used for the kitchen, the clinic, the apartment and a number of other areas, gave up the ghost.  Then late in the month, the water heater controlling the restroom wing of the building failed also.  The good news is that all repairs (costly) have been completed.
The evening of the Grand Master’s Reception we had a near catastrophe when the electrical panel controlling the security lighting and the parking lot lighting started to smoke and overheat on shut down.  Luckily, happening on shut down for the evening, we successfully shut the system down without damage or a fire.  The next day, significant damage to the panel was found and the contactors and switches were replaced with newer equipment that does not generate the heat or noise that was generated with the old system.  The GAOTU must have been watching over us.
REMEMBER that this month is our only stag event for the year (except for reunions of course).  Be sure that you call in your reservation for your food!  BBQ fixins as is normal for this event.  CASUAL DRESS THIS MONTH.  We return to coat and tie in September.
For those of you who missed the event, the Festive Board and the Grand Master’s Reception was again enjoyed by all.  Put it on your calendar for next year.
The Masons for Mitts program was a great success and the annual Grand Master’s Golf Tournament is on September 1st at Moffett.  There are still a few openings if you want to play.  Call me to get a sign up sheet if you need one.

Bob Rowan,
General Secretary
