Brethren & Ladies:

A number of items are worthy of disclosure this month.  The very first is to inform all Brothers that the application fees for Scottish Rite has been approved by the members present at our last stated meeting to be reduced to $150 from the fees we have been charging.  The major change is that our Valley will consider the 14th Degree Ring to be a matter of personal choice and it will no longer be included in the application fee.  If an incoming Brother wishes to purchase a ring, we will assist in finding one for his personal choice.
Over the last few years, we have seen the prices of rings to accelerate from approximately $140 just two years ago, to today’s pricing  of $240 to $2,700, all driven by the price of gold.
Our fees will cover all costs incurred by the Valley, without any surplus at all.
Please remember that our next reunion will commence in October with the 4th Degree being conferred after our stated meeting.  The remaining degree schedule will be published next month.  Also remember that applications for the fall reunion will be voted on at our September stated meeting, therefore, you need to submit those applications as soon as you can.
Lastly, at our July stated meeting, the members of the Valley unanimously approved the dues for next year to be increased to $115.00 per year.
