I would like to begin my message this month with a special thank you to a very special Brother.
Bro. Jack Harris 32° is preparing to move from his Willow Glen home into Acacia Creek and he found the need to dispose of some wine (there being no room for a wine cellar at his new home) that he had in his personal wine cellar.  First, he had a party to work on the problem but not enough was consumed and then, finding still too much in inventory, he asked if our Scottish Rite would accept a donation of more than eleven cases.  Knowing how well our wines are enjoyed at our stated meetings, I accepted his generous contribution for our well being.  Thank you Brother Jack!  Perhaps you have implanted an idea that can be emulated by others.

At our stated meeting dinner, we had some great fun celebrating Sofie Birk’s 100th Birthday.  We wish you many more years of life Sofie !!!  We want you to keep the Archeologist well away.  He cannot read anyway.

By the time you receive the Rite Word for this month, the Annual Communication of our Grand Lodge will have been completed, our Festive Agape will have been enjoyed, the fiscal year for the San Jose Scottish Rite Foundation will have come to an end and fall will have begun.  Here, in the Valley of San Jose, we will have entered a phase of “Back to the Future”, by returning to our reunions being held on multiple dates, rather than cramming everything into one weekend.  Together with this, we will be presenting the new “Pike” ritual and updating our presentations with new music, sound systems, and visual presentation.  Believe it or not, there are quite a few new participants in the degrees and I am certain that the format of the reunion will add to your enjoyment, and will be pleasing to our candidates.
