Here we are in September.  It’s back to school for the kids.  The vacations are over, and time to settle in for the rest of the year.  The Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge happens this month, signaling yet another change, and a race to the end of 2011.
There will be a lot going on at the Scottish Rite.  We’re gearing up for our Fall Reunion, which will commence with the 4th Degree on October 4.  And because that degree is early this year, it is more important than ever that you get petitions for candidates into the General Secretary by the September Stated meeting.  That will be our only opportunity to vote.  So look for potential candidates, get them to complete their applications, and get them in.
I hope that if you haven’t been to Scottish Rite in a while, you will consider coming back.  We have such great social times, we do some fascinating, enlightening, and enjoyable degrees, and we have many other activities coming up throughout the rest of this year.  If you attend regularly, then I look to seeing you again in September.
Remember that Scottish Rite has a lot to offer, and it’s up to you to recommend it to your brethren.
I hope to see all soon.
