Those of us that went on the Scottish Rite trip to New Orleans are just back from the adventure.  There were a total of 24 of us on the trip - 20 from our Valley, one couple from LA and one from Kansas.  We had a great time. Besides the various tours and events, we spent one evening at the New Orleans Scottish Rite enjoying their fellowship and the following night the men went to see a Scottish Rite 1st Degree, while the ladies went to dinner with a contingent of the ladies from New Orleans.  It was a very interesting night. Be sure to ask someone that was on the trip about the Degree.
Now on to the future.  We have the annual Feast of Tishri coming up. This is one of the obligatory functions we have each year and Illustrious Doornbos will be delivering the message during our Stated Meeting dinner.  We are also about to enter into the Fall Reunion.  Come down and support the casts as they present the Degrees and view them again for yourselves.  I know that each time I see a Degree, I pick up something that I had not seen or known before.
Finally, we are very near the end of the year and it is time for us to look to next years line of officers.  To that end, if you are interested in becoming an officer, talk to one about it,. We are always looking for good officers to assist in running our Valley.  If you are going to be an officer for next year, now is the time to get proficient in the work for the office you will be taking. Do not wait till the last minute.

Fraternally,
Gregg Hall
