The San Jose Consistory lost a beloved, respected and dedicated member with the passing of Brother Richard Fulton, 32 Degree.  Richard had faithfully served in the officer line and was serving as the Preceptor (Junior Warden) at the time of his passing.  Brother Richard was also Chief Knight of the Knights of Saint Andrew and played major roles in several degrees.  We miss him; he was a vital part of the San Jose Bodies.
It is time to get your reservations for the Night of Scottish Rite Education on September 30, 2008.  Details can be found on page 2 of this Rite Word.  Be assured this will be a night to remember.  This is a triple threat night; social hour, the words of Brother Daniel Doornbos and a Festive Agape Dinner all for $25.00. I hope to see you there!
During the October 13th Stated Meeting Dinner, there will be a celebration/recognition of the Feast of Tishri.  Once again, Brother Doornbos has stepped up to the plate and agreed to talk about the Jewish Feast and how it relates to the Scottish Rite.  This will be our first recognition of the Feast of Tishri in some time and this promises to be a “not miss” event.
Last month, I posed the question concerning the meaning of ineffable as it refers to the degrees of the Lodge of Perfection.  It means “incapable of vocal expression”, or “unspeakable because of its sacred character.”  As the “Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor & Guide” points out, they were so named because in their primitive form these degrees alluded to names of His omnipresence.  It also alluded to the Legend of the 13th Degree wherein the Ineffable name of God was recovered.
