The San Jose Consistory will provide a celebration of the Feast of Tishri during the October Stated Meeting Dinner. Brother Daniel Doornbos, 32° KCCH, has prepared a presentation on this Feast and how it relates to Scottish Rite Freemasonry. A Jewish holiday, the Feast is described in the bible as the Feast of the Tabernacles and/or Booths that commemorates the completion and dedication of King Solomon’s Temple.
Make your reservations now for this important event on October 14.
I have been working with Brother Richard Fisher, 32°, KCCH and the Ill. Bob Winter, 33° on the scholarship program for the 2009/2010 school year. We have developed a new Application Form, Student Scholarship Agreement Form and evaluation criteria for the selection committee. The current plans are for one, $2,500 scholarship to be awarded to a public high school senior in the counties of our Scottish Rite Valley jurisdiction. This will potentially involve a great number of high schools and we are looking for volunteers to assist in getting the application packages into the hands of interested students via their school officials. This will be a particularly large task within Santa Clara County. If you are interested in assisting in this project, please contact Brother Richard, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.
I hope to see you at the Fall Reunion on October 25. It promises to be a great reunion featuring the exemplification of the “new 4th, 14th, 18th, 29th, 30th and 32nd Degrees and the banquet in February when our new Scottish Rite Brothers will receive their caps and 14°rings.

Chuck Cowden, 32°
