From the Commander (November, 2007)

As the year draws to a close, it is time to reflect on our individual involvement in Scottish Rite during the past year.  There is a small percentage of our members who attend meetings regularly, and participate in the activities.  On the other hand, there is a large percentage of our membership who do very little. One would expect this message to be directed to this group, but it is not.  It is directed to those who are already busy, helping in various ways.  It is often said that if you need something done, ask a busy person to do the job and it will get done.  I feel confident that each of you knows at least one Scottish Rite member who has been inactive this year.  I am asking each of you—no, I challenge each of you—to invite one of these Brothers and his lady to attend our next stated meeting and dinner.  If he doesn’t like to drive at night, offer to give him a ride.
In addition, get them to attend the Reunion!  After all, if they have been inactive, they just might miss the fellowship that lives here in the Valley of San Jose.  A little effort on your part could easily double our attendance.
