March 2012 Clinic Director's Message

During the month of January we completed 260 treatment hours.  A total of 61 children received speech and language services, including nine screenings.  Two children were discharged from services and two new children were added to the caseload.  We currently have a total of 111 children remaining on the waiting list.
In early February we welcomed back Angela Stephan from maternity leave.  At the end of February, Sharon left for her maternity leave!  Her fellow clinicians and I would like to thank Sharon for her
excellent work and wish her and her family all the best.
The clinicians would like to extend a sincere “Thank you!” to Jim Arnold and Caroline Ayre for donating therapy materials to our Clinic.  The children love the new teaching tools and interactive games.  Thanks also to Angela Athans for coordinating a new sign for the Clinic.  It looks terrific!
Please stop by soon to see the new sign and visit your Scottish Rite Children’s Language Disorders Clinic.
If you would like to assist the Clinic by making a financial donation, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please contact the Scottish Rite office or me.  If you would prefer to donate therapy materials, I would be happy to provide you with the list of our current needs.

I can’t begin to thank each of you enough for your help and continued support.
Durward C. Ayre, 32° KCCH
