March 2011 Clinic Director's Message

In February the clinic received a donation of assorted toys and games from the parents of a child who is receiving our services.  The toys and games were immediately enjoyed by the other children at the clinic.
In addition, we were visited by a reporter from the Gilroy Dispatch newspaper who was interested to learn about the services that we provide to children in the community.  She was quite impressed and featured the clinic in a recent column.  Here’s the link to the online version of her article:   http://www.gilroydispatch.com/news/272920-teraji-results-speak-for-themselves-at-clinic.  I would like to thank VM Hal Leister, 32° KCCH, for inviting the reporter to visit and our clinicians, Angela Stephan and Rachel Sense, for helping me host the tour.  Thanks also to Angela A. and Dina for pitching in to make the clinic look like a “showplace” on short notice.
During the month of January, we completed 223 treatment hours, including one screening.  We have 53 children receiving speech and language services and an additional 99 children on our waiting list.
There are still a few items that we could use for the clinic including vertical blinds, a desktop computer and a color printer. If you would like to donate any of these items or help the clinic in some other way, please contact the Scottish Rite office or me.

Respectfully,
Durward C. Ayre
Clinic Director
