Clinic Director's Message (November, 2010)

Our San Jose Scottish Rite Children’s Language Disorders Clinic helped 54 children in September, completing over 238 treatment hours.  Two children who had been on our waiting list were able to start weekly treatment sessions.  We continue to have a steady number of phone calls and e-mails from parents interested in our services.  Therefore, we reopened our waiting list and the clinicians have started to conduct screening appointments again.  As a result, our waiting list is back up to 90 children.
On Monday, October 18, we held an Invitational Golf Tournament at the San Jose Golf and Country Club.  I am happy to report that the event was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves.  Both of our clinicians, Rachel Sense and Angela Stephan, were able to attend the award banquet.  I would like to thank Hon. Bob Rowan, 32° KCCH, our General Secretary, for spearheading this event.
I am always looking for volunteers to do some work such as painting to spruce up the clinic.  The clinic could also use new set of vertical blinds.  If you are interested in helping with a project and/or donating some needed items, please contact me.

Respectfully,
Durward C. Ayre   -  Clinic Director
