Clinic Director's Message (February, 2011)

During the month of December we completed 174 treatment hours, including three screenings.  We have 55 children are receiving speech and language services with an additional 102 children on the waiting list.
I am happy to report that during the 2010 year, our clinicians completed a total of 2,549 treatment hours, including screenings:  71 children received treatment, 28 children were screened, and 16 children were discharged from treatment.
We are continuing to explore the various avenues in hopes that we will soon be able to increase our clinician staff and help reduce our waiting list.  Towards this end, in January I attended a grant-writing seminar for nonprofits that was sponsored by Burlingame Scottish Rite.
The clinic was recently painted.  We are currently seeking such items as laptop computer with a CD drive and a color printer.  If you would like to help, please contact the Scottish Rite office or me.
In closing, I would like to thank Thirumalai Kumar and Revathy Sivasubramaniam, the parents of one of our patients, for their recent generous donation to the Clinic.

Respectfully,
Durward C. Ayre
Clinic Director
